Sometimes you need to silence alerts temporarily — during planned maintenance, server migrations, or when you're already aware of an issue. WebMon lets you pause notifications without stopping monitoring.
How It Works
When you pause notifications:
- Your monitors continue checking as normal
- Check results are still recorded and tracked
- Uptime statistics keep updating
- Only alert notifications (email, push, Telegram) are temporarily silenced
Pausing From the Dashboard
- Find the monitor on your dashboard
- Click the monitor's action menu
- Select "Pause Notifications"
- Choose a duration: 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, or Indefinitely
Pausing From a Monitor Page
On any monitor's detail page, look for the "Pause Notifications" button in the actions area.
Pausing From Alert Emails
When you receive a down alert email, you can click the "Pause Notifications" link directly in the email to silence further alerts for that monitor.
Resuming Notifications
Notifications resume automatically when the pause duration expires. You can also resume manually at any time:
- Go to the monitor's detail page
- Click "Resume Notifications"
Tips
- Use 1 hour for quick fixes or deployments
- Use 4 hours for longer maintenance windows
- Use 24 hours for major migrations
- Use Indefinitely when you want full manual control
- Consider using maintenance windows for recurring scheduled maintenance instead
