Login Sessions and Remember Me

WebMon provides flexible session management to balance security and convenience.

Standard Sessions

By default, your login session lasts until you close your browser or after a period of inactivity. This is the most secure option for shared or public computers.

Remember Me Feature

The "Remember Me" option extends your session for up to 7 days:

  1. Check "Remember me for 7 days" on the login page
  2. Your session will persist even after closing the browser
  3. You'll stay logged in for up to 7 days of inactivity

When to Use Remember Me

  • Personal devices you control
  • Home or work computers
  • Mobile devices with screen lock enabled

When NOT to Use Remember Me

  • Public or shared computers
  • Library or internet cafe computers
  • Any device others have access to

Session Security

Even with Remember Me enabled, your session is protected:

  • Sessions are encrypted and secure
  • Each device has a unique session token
  • Suspicious activity may trigger automatic logout
  • Password changes invalidate all sessions

Managing Active Sessions

You can view and manage all devices logged into your account:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Click "Manage Active Sessions"
  3. View all devices and their last activity
  4. Log out individual sessions or all other sessions

If You See Unknown Sessions

  1. Log out the unknown session immediately
  2. Change your password
  3. Enable Two-Factor Authentication if not already active
  4. Review recent account activity

Automatic Logout

Sessions may end automatically when:

  • The remember period expires (7 days)
  • You log out manually
  • Your password is changed
  • An admin resets your session
  • Suspicious activity is detected

Tips for Session Security

  • Use Remember Me only on trusted devices
  • Review active sessions regularly
  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication
  • Log out when using shared computers
  • Keep your password secure and unique
